Guest Beers at Tapped You Can’t Miss – 25/11/2025

If you’re looking for a reason to pop into Tapped Dublin, this lineup is it. Yesterday, I went on a little beer adventure that turned into a full-on tasting session. And because I couldn’t resist, I capped the night with a bonus stout at Bar Rua. Here’s what I tried, what I thought, and what you should pair them with.

Wicklow Wolf – Devil’s Glen Black IPA (6.66%)

ree

The Beer:A dark twist on an IPA. Devil’s Glen pours jet black but drinks like a hop-forward beauty. Expect roasted coffee and caramel aromas, balanced by citrus and pine bitterness. Bold, bitter, and beautifully layered.

Pair It With:Smoky BBQ ribs or a chargrilled burger. The roasted malt loves grilled flavors, while the hops cut through the richness.

Wicklow Wolf – Pointy Shoes 2025 Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (13%)

ree

The Beer:This is pure indulgence. Aged for a year in bourbon barrels, it’s silky and complex—bourbon warmth, vanilla, oak, dark chocolate, and a whisper of dried fruit. At 13%, this is a slow sipper for special moments.

Pair It With:Chocolate fondant or sticky toffee pudding. Or go bold with blue cheese for a savory contrast.

Sierra Nevada – Celebration Fresh Hop IPA (6.8%)

ree

The Beer:A festive classic. Bursting with fresh Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops, it’s all citrus and pine with a caramel malt backbone. Crisp, full-bodied, and perfect for winter nights.

Pair It With:Roast turkey or glazed ham for holiday vibes. It also pairs beautifully with spicy Thai curry.

Hope – Brewers Edition DIPA (8.5%)

ree

The Beer:A hop bomb with finesse. Cryogenic hops bring resinous pine, citrus zest, and stone

fruit. Despite the strength, it’s smooth and dangerously drinkable.

Pair It With:Spicy chicken wings or loaded nachos. The hops cut through heat and fat like a champ.

Bonus Beer at Bar Rua:

Rascals Brewing – Breakfast of Champions Coffee Oatmeal Stout (6.1%)

ree

The Beer:Comfort in a glass. Brewed with Imbibe coffee, chocolate wheat, and oats, it’s silky, roasty, and slightly sweet thanks to lactose. Basically, breakfast—but better.

Pair It With:Chocolate brownies or tiramisu. If you’re feeling savory, try it with smoked bacon for a cheeky brunch vibe.

Final Thoughts

This lineup was a dream for beer lovers. Devil’s Glen gave me that dark IPA kick, Pointy Shoes was pure luxury, Celebration brought festive freshness, and Hope’s DIPA was a hop lover’s fantasy. Rascals’ stout? The perfect nightcap.
