A Belgian Beer Adventure at Brickyard Dundrum

Brickyard in Dundrum is throwing a Belgium Beer Festival that runs until November 30th, and trust me—it’s a beer lover’s dream. I popped in to see what all the fuss was about and ended up on a tasting journey that went from crisp and citrusy to rich and decadent. Here’s the lowdown on what I tried (and loved).

1. Crime Passionnel – Brouwerij De Dochter van de Korenaar

Style: IPA – White / Wheat | ABV: 7.5%

This one’s a curveball. It’s an IPA, but with a Belgian twist—soft wheat body, fruity notes, and a little spice from the yeast. The hops are there, but they’re polite, not shouting at you. Think citrus zest meets a hint of clove. If you’re IPA-curious but not into the bitter bomb, this is your gateway beer.

2. Sans Pardon – Brouwerij De Dochter van de Korenaar

Style: Russian Imperial Stout | ABV: 11%

Sans Pardon doesn’t mess around. It’s big, bold, and brooding—like the strong silent type of the beer world. Deep chocolate, roasted coffee, and a warming finish that makes you want to curl up by a fire. At 11%, this is a slow sipper. Treat it with respect (or at least don’t plan on driving home).

3. Triporteur Full Moon 12 – BOMBrewery

Style: Belgian Quadrupel | ABV: 10.2%

Full Moon 12 is basically dessert in a glass. Sweet, malty, and layered with caramel and dried fruit. It’s rich without being cloying, and that boozy warmth sneaks up on you like a friendly hug. Pair it with chocolate cake—or skip the cake and let this be the star.

4. Triporteur From Heaven – BOMBrewery

Style: Belgian Blonde | ABV: 6.2%

Light, crisp, and just a little floral, From Heaven is the palate cleanser you didn’t know you needed. After the heavy hitters, this one feels like a refreshing Belgian breeze. Easy-drinking, slightly sweet, and dry enough to keep things interesting.

Bonus Pour: Over A Barrel – Two Sides Brewing Co. x DOT Brew

Style: Imperial / Double Milk Stout | ABV: 10.6%

This collab is pure luxury. A single malt stout aged in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon ice wine barrels? Yes, please. It’s chocolatey and roasty with a whisper of berry sweetness from the wine barrels. Silky, decadent, and dangerously drinkable. Honestly, it’s like someone melted a Black Forest gateau into your glass.

Final Thoughts: Brickyard’s Belgium Beer Festival is a playground for anyone who loves big flavors and Belgian craftsmanship. Whether you’re into hop-forward IPAs, rich stouts, or classic Belgian styles, there’s something here to make your taste buds happy. Get down there before November 30th—and if you try any of these, tag me! I want to know what you think.
